Sonny Steiner

Sonny was born and lived his early years in Indiana. It is there that he fell in love with music. His grandfather would host an annual bluegrass festival and taught him how to play guitar when he was 8. His love for bluegrass, folk, and country music, was nurtured and he was soon performing on his grandfather’s stage as early as 9 years old.

Sonny's family moved out west to a small town in the mountains of Washington. He was instantly captivated by Bob Dylan the first time he heard “Like a Rolling Stone” on a soundtrack of a movie he was watching on the family TV. That was enough to spark his interest in writing.

Since moving to Nashville, Sonny has been successful playing the local club scene and is extremely well received in the Americana genre.

Sonny is well respected by the music community as a great writer. His self-described “eclectic” style leads him to craft songs that are a melodic combination of the genres he grew up with, along with deep lyrics that explore topics everyone can relate to. While this style is set apart from the standard country sound that is prevalent in his hometown of Nashville, it has also been met with a great deal of praise by critics and fans alike.
